Off to the Motherland
Our flight to London leaves Madrid at 7pm tonight.
I can’t tell you how excited I am to be in England. Aside from the fact that I don’t have to hope that people will speak English, I will also get to drink real beer. I don’t think I ever expressed the gravity of the beer situation in Spain. Their most popular beers were about as gross as Coor’s. It’s not like we’re heavy drinkers, but a good beer every now and then shouldn’t be so hard to find.
Tonight we’re staying in a hotel (luxury) by the airport and tomorrow we’re going to stay with a family friend for the weekend. On Monday we’ve booked an all girl’s hostel in central London, which we’re actually quite looking forward to. Being in the city will be so nice, as transport is quite expensive there.
So, we’ll be in London for a week, after that we’re heading north to Leicester to stay with some family, and then to Nottingham and probably Liverpool and possibly Manchester.
We’re going to York with my aunt Wendy at some point, and then, of course, we’re going to stay with our dearest Kendal at school before we steal her off to Ireland and Spain.
It’s been five weeks, I can’t believe it. It really does seem as if it’s been no time at all.
Cheers, Spain. It’s been real. See you in March!
